Job Summary:

An OB-GYN in South West New Jersey provides comprehensive medical care to women, including prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care, as well as preventive and therapeutic gynecological services. The role involves managing various aspects of reproductive health, performing surgeries, and offering counseling and education to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care:

    • Conduct routine and preventive gynecological examinations.
    • Manage and monitor pregnancies, including prenatal care, labor, and delivery.
    • Perform Cesarean sections and other surgical procedures as needed.
    • Diagnose and treat a range of gynecological conditions, such as infections, cysts, and abnormal bleeding.
    • Provide postnatal care and counseling to new mothers.
  2. Medical Procedures:

    • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as Pap smears, ultrasounds, and biopsies.
    • Administer medications and treatments as required.
    • Carry out minor and major surgical procedures related to obstetrics and gynecology.
  3. Patient Education:

    • Educate patients about reproductive health, contraception, and sexual health.
    • Provide guidance on lifestyle changes and preventive health practices.
    • Discuss treatment options and potential outcomes with patients and their families.
  4. Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
    • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
    • Handle administrative tasks related to patient scheduling, billing, and insurance.
  5. Emergency Care:

    • Respond to obstetric emergencies, such as complications during labor.
    • Provide emergency care and decision-making in critical situations.
  6. Community Involvement:

    • Participate in community outreach and health education programs.
    • Stay informed about advances in obstetrics and gynecology through continuous education and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Training: Completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Certification: Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • License: Active medical license in New Jersey.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and patient management skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and handle high-stress situations.

Work Environment:

  • Typically work in hospitals, clinics, or private practices.
  • May require on-call duties and the ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, depending on patient needs and delivery schedules.
