Position Overview
The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye and vision care, including routine eye examinations, diagnosis and management of eye conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses. The position involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and effective treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and eye health
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye
- Prescribe corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Detect signs of systemic conditions that may affect eye health
- Educate patients on vision care, treatment options, and preventive eye health
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to coordinate patient care
- Stay current with advancements in optometric care and technology

Requirements
General Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice optometry in Vermont
