Description
A healthcare organization located in Rutland is seeking two Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants) to join a collaborative cardiology care team. This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside cardiologists and clinical staff to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in a supportive healthcare environment.
Position Overview
The Cardiology APP will assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with cardiovascular conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The provider will work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations
- Assist in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs, laboratory studies, and imaging as appropriate
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Provide patient education regarding heart health, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Assist with follow-up care and chronic disease management
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care

Requirements
General Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Eligible for or able to obtain licensure in the state of Vermont
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and patient care abilities
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience in cardiology, internal medicine, or a related specialty
- Experience managing chronic cardiovascular conditions
- Familiarity with cardiovascular diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
